Tell us about yourself and your role at Mondelēz International.
I have mixed Slovakian/ Panamanian origins, and I’m currently leading the Business Development & Engineering department at the Kostolne Kracany plant in Slovakia.
How would you describe your career path to the point where you are nowadays?
In one world “Dynamic”, I’m a proactive person, and I like to challenge the status quo, which has brought me many times to the very interesting situations. As well, I believe in personal development and long-term vision, which are opening many doors into your career and professional development. I started my career as an operator, and by improving my knowledge and skills, I gained the trust of managers, which allowed me to step beyond.
What challenges have you identified during your journey?
There are always many challenges during any journey, and in the career journey as well. You are meeting different people with different opinions and expectations. For me, the biggest challenge was managing my own expectations, either from others or from myself. Not all people have the same point of view and opinion, and you have to understand and accept others. As well, I had to understand that not all the time it’s possible to perform at 100%, and every mistake is a lesson to improve yourself.
How would you describe Mondelēz culture?
Mondelēz is one of the greatest places to work, the company is led by great leaders which are really taking care of people in all aspects. The company is providing full support for any live occasion and empowering everybody to grow personally and professionally.
How does it feel to be part of the team at the Kostolne Kracany plant, Slovakia?
Kostolne Kracany is driven by a very collaborative and motivated team that wants to prove their capability and openness to continues improvement. Our team is very diverse; different culture and mix of leagues create great ambient, friendship and openness in the entire team.
How would you describe the world of manufacturing/engineering/production?
Constant challenge which allows you to get the best of you. There is nothing better than creating value and see results of your daily hard work.
What is your message/recommendation for those building a career in the world of manufacturing?
Manufacturing is the most exciting part of the entire supply chain. Being a witness to the transformation of raw materials into the final product is priceless. People are investing a lot of energy and commitment to produce the best products, which are distributed around the world. Anytime you find your product on the shelf or in the hands of a customer, you feel very proud as you are part of a family, which allows to others to enjoy sweet moments.
