Global Law expands with hiring of quartet
2 min readGlobal Law Office’s Beijing branch has welcomed partners Ryan Ren, Yan Shiye and Cai Ying, while partner Le Yuxin has joined the Shanghai office.
Ren, formerly a partner at Haiwen & Partners, specialises in M&A, corporate governance, capital markets, and PE/VC. He has led the team advising Stellantis, Maserati’s parent company, on its EUR1.5 billion (USD1.66 billion) acquisition of a 20% stake in EV carmaker Leapmotors under PRC law. His notable deals included Unifrax Asia-Pacific’s RMB2.7 billion (USD384 million) tender offer to Luyang, Diageo’s RMB6.1 billion acquisition to Sichuan Swellfun, and Wanda Movie’s RMB10.5 billion major asset restructuring.
Recognised as a “Rising Star” by China Business Law Journal in 2023, Ren received the “Growth Drivers” honour the following year on the A-List.

Yan focuses on IP and dispute resolution, particularly patent and trade secret cases. With a bachelor’s degree in engineering, she has a deep understanding of communications, semiconductors, electricity, electrochemistry, computers, mechanical and automation engineering, and materials.
Prior to joining Global Law, Yan was a partner and led the communications and electrical litigation practice at IP firm Lexfield. She also gained experience as a patent examiner at the China National Intellectual Property Administration.
Cai, previously a partner at Zhonglun W&D Law Firm, specialises in non-litigation matters concerning trust, private equity funds, real estate asset securitisation and investment, as well as dispute resolution in investment and financing.
Le, who previously practised at King & Wood Mallesons, focuses on family wealth, dispute resolution and corporate law.
She has advised the private banking and high net-worth client departments of various financial institutions, founders of listed companies, and corporate controllers in resolving wealth management and corporate governance disputes.
